Youth talent – for real

January 19, 2014 By Line Frederiksen

No need to beat around the bush – way too many young people believe themselves musically gifted (on national television), without really being so! This is why it was such a great pleasure to enter the New Year’s Concert at the City Hall in Frederiksberg – ‘cause these youths from the local schools of music definitely got talent!

Gustav Aske Sønksen, New Years Concert, Frederiksberg City Hall

Gustav Aske Sønksen conducts his own classical piece. The boy is just 14 years old!

The whole show was hosted by former topmodel Lotte Heise (now an inhabitant at Frederiksberg and huge fan of classical music). The top-performer of the show was (without any doubt) 14-year old Gustav Aske Sønksen. He had written his own piece of classical music – “Der Tod und das Mädchen”, which he skillfully conducted the musicians through.

Otherwise, this was a great proof of how detailed teamwork can create the most amazing sounds as long as pure talents perform it. We got James Bond, Mission Impossible … and of course – no New Year Concert without “Champagnegaloppen”. Bang!!!

Feeling inspired to learn how to play music? Take a look at the hosts of the concert.
